Anyway, after laying the sod, and watering and watering and watering, we were ready for the wedding on July 18th, 2009. Ours was a very DIY wedding in the best sense of the phrase, and I know that of course it was mine, but it really was the best wedding I've ever been to, and it came off beautifully. Katherine should really be the one to post about it, because she was without a doubt the driving force behind it, and its success is really a credit to her creativity and her willpower.
But to prepare for the wedding meant a lot of hard work on the part of ourselves and our parents, siblings and friends. In addition to finding a Justice of the Peace, renting chairs and finding tables, we had to make many things from scratch such as: invitations, programs, flags, centerpieces and labels of all sorts. We had to clean the house, hang lights, buy food, make the music playlist, and so on and so on. It really came down to the wire, and we were up until about 2AM the night before, and it's still hard for me to believe that it all worked out perfectly.
Anyway, I'll post some photos to give you an idea of what it was like, and I hope that Katherine will come back and talk about some of the details.
So there you have it. Pretty amazing, right?
