Prepare yourselves folks, it's about to get real fancy (read: French) up in here.
"Petit a petit, l’oiseau fait son nid"
Which translates into
"Little by little, the bird makes its nest"
That came up in an episode of House Hunters International we were watching a while back (which, if you have the chance, watch this episode) and I loved it so much I committed it to memory. I mean, what a nice thought, right? You don't have to run out and "buy the set" or decorate a whole room in one afternoon, just work at it, add things here and there and one day your house will be a home.
Well, little by little we're building the "whole bath" portion of our nest.
Yesterday we added two details that make a big difference.
First? We added a push button light switch we bought a while back from The Old Hardware Store in Halstead. The rest of house, with the exception of a couple of rooms had push button switches when we moved in. The bathroom did not so we figured, since we were tearing the whole thing apart, we might as well add them.
Flipper switch...
Push button!
I got the plate from Old Town Architectural Salvage and shined it up with some Brasso. Good as new!
And what would a switch be without...
a light!
That's right! This light is now that light up there and it's attached firmly to the ceiling of the bathroom. I love it.
Up next? I suppose it's time for us to put the shower together (if we have to) and start putting in other necessities like the toilet and the sink.
When I'm at my parents' I'll gorge on cable, mainly Food Network and HGTV. I saw this episode last time, among others.
ReplyDeleteJust peeked at that episode and let's just say, I know what I'm doing for the next half hour or so : D
